Broadcasting
As someone with a deep connection to music, getting into community radio changed everything. My debut on local airwaves began in 2022 with my self produced programme, Sampled. Born from my own adoration of artistic creativity, each episode delved into the stories behind sampled elements of music, exploring aspects of media that became featured within a song.
As I grew in confidence on the airwaves discovering the richness of music history and culture, I became a host on SYN’s flagship local music show, The Hoist. Over four seasons presenting, I grew more in awe of our country’s music scene each episode. Through producing weekly run sheets, curating music selections and interviewing over 50 artists, I found my passion in elevating the voices of the countless talented creatives in our music industry.
The Push Masterclass Facilitation
In 2024, I had the pleasure of facilitating The Push’s Music Industry Masterclasses. Featuring three panelists, these conversations were focused on helping shape career pathways for young people.
Mentored by award-winning broadcaster, Tracee Hutchinson, the experience enriched my skills in reading rooms and guiding conversations with presence and understanding.
Commercial Radio Promotions
In 2024 I stepped into the commercial radio world, becoming a Brand Experience Assistant with Southern Cross Austereo. I learned to be adaptable in this role, as no two days were the same, from representing clients and engaging with listeners at activations, to providing office support and assisting at live broadcast events for stations Triple M and The Fox. This year, I moved across to Nova Entertainment, further growing in the industry as a Promotions Assistant representing stations Smooth and Nova.
Within these roles I have developed strong skills in the events space, efficiently providing support in fast-paced environments whilst confidently representing well-known Australian media brands. I also contributed my creativity through working on branded social media content for the radio stations and their clients. Please see examples below.
1700 - Artist Interviews
Another highlight during my time volunteering with SYN was being involved as a host on local music show 1700, produced with RMITV. These episodes aired on Channel 31 in 2022, where I had the privilege of interviewing local talent, promoting new music and introducing live performances.
Interviews are linked below.
Video Production
Despite being amongst the depths of Melbourne lockdowns, through 2020 to 2022 I created video documentaries as part of my Media and Communications degree at Swinburne.
These documentaries focused on showcasing the stories of local heroes, including zero waste store owners and alternative pet carers. Each experience reinforced my passion for storytelling and expanded my skills in Adobe Creative Suite and complex camera and audio equipment.
