Broadcasting
As someone with a deep connection with music, getting into community radio changed everything. My debut on local airwaves began in 2022 with my self produced programme, Sampled. Born from my own adoration of artistic creativity, each episode delved into the stories behind sampled elements of music, exploring aspects of media that became featured within a song.
As I grew confidence on the airwaves discovering the richness of music history and culture, I became a host on SYN’s flagship local music show, The Hoist. Over four seasons presenting, I grew more in awe of our country’s music scene each episode. Through producing weekly run sheets, curating music selections and interviewing 50+ artists, I found my passion; elevating the voices of the endless talented creatives in our music industry who deserve a platform.
The Push Masterclass Facilitation
In 2024, I had the pleasure of facilitating The Push’s Music Industry Masterclasses. Featuring three panelists, these conversations were focused on helping shape career pathways for young people.
Mentored by award winning broadcaster, Tracee Hutchinson, the experience enriched my skills in reading rooms and steering conversations with presence and ease. Below linked are livestreams from each of the panels I moderated.
Commercial Radio Promotions
and Content Creation
In 2024 I stepped into the commercial radio world, becoming a Brand Experience Assistant with Southern Cross Austereo. I felt like a chameleon in this role, as every day was different, from representing clients and engaging with listeners at activations, to providing office support to assisting at live broadcast events for stations Triple M and The Fox. This year, I shifted across to Nova Entertainment, further growing in the industry as a Promotions Assistant representing stations Smooth and Nova.
Within these roles I have developed skills in the events space, efficiently providing support in fast paced environments whilst confidently representing well known Australian media brands. Furthermore, I contributed my own creativity through sharing branded social stories for the radio stations, each with over 50k followers. Please see examples below.
Video Production
Despite being amongst the depths of Melbourne lockdowns, through 2020 to 2022 I completed multiple video documentaries during my Media and Communications degree at Swinburne.
These documentaries focused on showcasing the stories of local heroes, including zero waste store owners and alternative pet carers. These experiences grew my love for storytelling and honed my craft utilising Adobe Creative Suite and complex camera and audio equipment.
